Radahn's second phase is the worst boss fight I have ever experienced!
The second phase of Radahn in the DLC is possibly the worst boss fight ever designed. Did anyone even bother testing this travesty?! 50% of the time I fight horrible camera and the other 40% is blinding light effects that obstruct wtf is the boss doing so you can get hit. This is trash! 10% is what actualy Radahn is doing, which btw is way too extreme, there is barely any window to attack him and on top of that he has attacks you cannot dodge/avoid, so it will drain your health no matter what. Not to mention the inescapable garbage ''throw''. How is this a good boss design???
P.S I finally beat his a$$! I can't believe there is no achievement for that...what an unpleasant boss fight.

For me the main issue is visibility but it's a big issue.
It's very hard to see what he is doing in his 2nd phase let alone getting a clue what you should be doing.

IMO it would be a lot better if Fromsoft had the good idea to add a training mode in the menu where you could select any boss you've encountered and be able to choose the boss phase, make yourself invincible, make the boss invincible so you can train as a much as you want a specific phase ect..

Just passing by to say I agree.
Just say that you "can dodge his attacks" (including the light attack, meteor, multihit+AoE combo, etc) but if you miss some of these you are most likeluy done if you dont have at least 80% negation and 60VIG (I am on NG+)
I gave up on this, I think the 5th or 6th time I get Radahn to this much HP:

I felt rage, felt broken, felt disgust . . . now I just feel it is not worth my time, I even had 1st try Bayle (to my surprise, from what I read I expected Bayle to take me lots of tries) but my best results at Radahn are like that, another 1proc of Scarlet Aeonia to win then survive... but I will play other stuff, play with another char, maaybe get there on NG with far too overleveled char (as both health and damage of Radahn will be reduced) so I can just do it once to never look back . . wil take a time, if I ever will really go there to do it or not (if I will see the fight as worth my time to lvl up so much) I dont know, but is the only way I wil try this crap again.
Enough is enough, I dont want to summon players and I already went too far from my build that worked against the literal everything else in the game (2 Golden Halberds with jump attack) as I changed it to incantations only with Scarlet Aeonia, Black Blade, +Greater Holy Resistance and Greater Heal incantations.
I give up, it is hard yes but it is not fun neither worth in my opinion, Malenia the first time I tried far longer but I always enjoyed it, Radahn I never enjoyed it since my first try.

Don't fight him alone.

Is the best you mean. XD
You need to low set the effects setting,so the lightning attacks are less bright, and you can see.
The camera with this boss is the second enemy.Either you have to die 50/100 times to memorise the movements or use a great shield .

The second phase should start at 40% not 60%.

It starts with less than 40% damage dealt

Never used parry for any boss (in any Dark Souls games or Elden Ring), will not go to try and learn parry "for this one boss", I refuse, I rather replay a whole game and overlevel a char to lvl 300 on NG with fulll defenses than trying to learn to parry (even if it would not taake all that long), I already went out of my way to use incantations and I dont like to play using parry.
Oddly enough great shield meta is still strong in both phases along with Rot. Fight imo could be tuned in the second phase. First phase is great.
Mhm mhm. He was indeed a worthy foe. But quite recently, I, the foremost prodigy of the crimson demons, reduced him to ash with the greatness of my fiery faith incants.

I have killed him with five builds so far.

The first time around, I swapped over to golden parry after I realised if I didn't want to learn how to dodge some of his attacks, I could just say 'no' and swat him on the nose. I also used the dagger talisman, like in the video above. I did not kill him solely with crits, but the crits also served the purpose of mitigating my own damage (because you can't spam attacks when you're on your knees like a PEASANT). On top of that, I used whatever thing heals you when you crit. .. So I barely used any healing flasks.

He has, potentially, the easiest parry windows of any major boss I've ever seen. Even compared to Gwyn.

I finished Sekiro without deflect because I dont like the mechanic (not because I can not use it, first run I went 30% without deflect the used deflect just to kepe the pressure but second run I did completelly without deflect).

I would rather summon 2 players and sit back watching than using deflect on Radahn, it is more entertaimning than parry.
Even if that is the case, feels like most players need to play a specific style or methods to deal with at least the second phase. I mean without knowing the attack at the last 20 or 10 percent can kill a player without any knowledge feels like a middle finger to a phase that isn't fun to fight.

I don't think I'd ever have the amount of patience required to play Sekiro without using deflect, lol.

I'd never take any satisfaction in letting someone else finish something for me.
