Moonveil worth it?
I really want to play a cool Katana Build with the Rakshasa Armor from the DLC and I really like Moonveils moveset, but is it still viable? I loved the stance breaking back then

And If not, are there any katanas that do a lot of poise dmg? Im a huge fan of that

The damage is still there, but the stance damage has been heavily nerfed now. Try out the Star-Lined Katana instead. I haven't tried that one personally yet, but I've heard that it's really good.

Or a Great Katana.

Moonveil is still viable, it's not just not completely nuts like it was early on. There is also another int scaling katana in the DLC, known as the star lined sword. While moonveil is overall better, I prefer star lined sword over it. Just looks way better and the weapon art got more style.

No, you can't just stance break everything by spamming L2+R2, they fixed it. You have to actually play the game now.

And the same goes for Dark Moon Greatsword if you're wondering.

Does my own Poise amount make a difference when trying to inflict posture break?

Moonveil is still a solid weapon.
It's not a S+ Rank weapon anymore, more of a Solid B Tier, Strong, Reliable, but not overpowered. I would be wary of using it in PVP since it is still a common weapon that invaders have a lot of experience dealing whit.

Rogiers Set does boost the skill damage (it boost all Weapons Skills that that do Magic DMG, even Arcane weapons) and would be your Armour set until you get to the expention.

No. Your own poise is irrelevant when trying to poise break, unless you're trading hits I guess.

More poise is always good, but it doesn't have any direct relation, no. You definitely want some decent poise if you're getting up close and personal like with a Colossal weapon, but one of the main advantages of Moonveil is that you can attack enemies from a safe distance. It just depends on how you use it, I guess.

Katanas never worth using after From nerfed them to the grave.

I'm not sure if you're joking or being serious, but that's just false. The katana is a popular weapon in this game not just because it's a katana, but because they are good weapons. Not the best weapon class by any means, but they are definitely good. At least a B+ tier I'd say.
