Not proud of it but its porbably the easiest method availible currently after shield poke
Second playthrough: Knights Lightning Spear, dodge->zap->repeat, boss dead in less than an hour.
Third playthrough: Bleed Backhand Blade with deflecting hardtear. Even though it was my 3rd ride with Radahn, this took me the longest with probably about 5 or 6 hours of attempts spread over multiple days.
No ash summons because I like the pain
I play mainly as caster so no shield poke but still used a blacksteel shield (great holy negation) for P2, together with holy resistance talismans and a Reduvia for mid range bleed procs.
Used a caster mimic and summoned Thioller and Ansbach to finish their quests. Now that makes things EXTREMLY HARDER.....NPCs buffed his HP to 100k.....lol but after 4 hours i managed to keep rot up without downtime and never stopped casting black flame fireballs or blood flies. All of this while shielding and dodging some combos, also used a uplifting aromatic to protect me and my minions from the holy meteor (i wasted a lot of time and precious FP healing them during all the fight...).
This was a pre Scooby-Doo blessing buff kill in NG+ Max with 13 (or 14 cant remember) blessings...before there was any feedback or video around the internetz but played my first Shadow of the Erdtree clear blind anyways.
I keept the same loadout for all my 4 kills but managing to be able to light roll while keeping amazing mitigation thanks Maliketh armor and i can still use the great shield.
"Secret" is to dodge or parry his most used stuff, which is the same as first phase.
scadu 16, lvl 130 over here on his first demise.
he received the buckler + misericorde treatment.
edit:
you asked about attempts and whatnot. not sure but i roughly spent 3-4 hours on him.
We're at the point where it's 100% memorization. Skill matters very little as every attack will roll-catch if you dodge on reaction. Getting killed super fast just slows the learning process, as you're pretty much guaranteed to die and start over every time you see a chain of attacks you've never seen before as you have to already know how to avoid the attacks to react. Trying to increase difficulty more and more changed Souls combat from a skill-based rythm game to a trial and error memory game.
I'm not sure if I'm ever gonna fight him again in future playthroughs tbh, I genuinely think they went overboard this time, it's such a tedious fight it left a sour taste in my mouth.
Primarily a strength build with some faith for buffs
Took me around 3-4 hours to beat him
Second time: Str/Int build, mainly used a Radahn cosplay for irony.
Third time: Mohg build, revenge.
Fourth time: Mage build, Rennala cosplay.
Did alot of co-op after with bloodfiend arm/imp thorns since it fit the arcane/faith build i already had and i didn't want hosts to suffer the low claw damage despite the bleeds
2nd char 70 Int build: Dark Moon Greatsword, no halp just golden vow and charged atk spam, took about an hour, had to play it like a thorn's mage with how few openings you get with a slower weapon and staying in melee range also added more damage
Light roll makes dodging alot more forgiving, Medium roll has an easier time dodging his potential one shot lightspeed dash move tho...
learned to dodge phase 1 the hard way, punish possible for cold storm spell and rani moon when he's doing the meteore jump
summon mimic just before end of phase 1, to be full health at the start of phase 2.
juggle aggro with mimic and some comet on phase 2.
tears for magic damage and reduce incoming damage
do not use NPC, he has way too much HP if an NPC is involved and sir ansbach is just a f***ing joke, runing around the map unable to hit Radanh.
took 30 tries i guess, i should'nt have started the dlc with a NG+, the learning phase is hard ^^'
