Why can't I bleed Consort Radhan?
I have almost 400 tries on this ♥♥♥♥. I'm using the Rakshasa's Katana and the Dragon Hunter's Great Katana. Both have a bleed uildup of 55. In almost 400 attemps I have never, not a single time, bled Consort Radhan. Can someone tell me what's happening? I'm spamming attacks and jump attacks and nothing.

Spamming attacks is nice.
Are you actually hitting him though?
Tiniturtle Jul 19, 2024 @ 6:52pm
to bleeding him u have to hit him often enough to break his resistence bar or else he can just get resistence regen back up just like urself
and 55 bleed build up is pretty nothing on a slow atk like great katana as ur offensive window again dlc radahn is short and distance
if u really want to bleed him then use a fast weapon with bleed infuse

55 bleed is low

According to the Fextra Wiki, Consort Radahn has a hemorrhage resistance of 734 for the first bleed.
You'd have to accumulate 734 Bleed on him before he suffers his first blood loss.
That's a minimum of 14 hits with your weapon assuming his bleed buildup does not go down over time, which it constantly is.

You need at least 80 bleed build up to bleed him often

for starters 55 bleed is indeed low. its sjut a nice bonus for the weapon to have as a base at that point. theres lots of weapons that easily clear 100 buildup (arcane can help this too).

have you played Sekiro? in sekiro you can see the enemy 'posture bar' it builds up as you parry them and decays and recovers if you back off for too long needing to make you start over.
this is the same for status build up in Elden ring. be it Poison, frost, blood, frenzy ect ect you just cant see it in Elden ring.
a boss has X amount you need to build up on them for it to burst. Consort is somewhere in the 700 range. when you aren't attacking him that bleed bar is decaying which results in even more hits to get the build up to 100%.

this is why often dual wield power stance weapon jump attacks are the go to for build up. a lot of weapons do 4 hits on jump attacks. dual wield twin-blades do 6 hits on a jump attack making the build up fast.

also every time you bleed a target the next bleed requires more build up than the last.
you can reset this by building up a bleed then building up a frostbite then back to bleed. the frostbite will reset the bleed buildup needed and vice verca.

Radahn is very weak to Scarlet Rot in phase 1.

an easy fill in option is to craft some of the Hefty status pots to throw. to get more statuses that aren't on your weps. the Hefty pots do like 400 buildup in 1 throw.

its how often you attack. Rad is not weak to bleed, his res is 700s. I can pull it off as an arcane build w over 220 bleed build up( dual wielding bleed great axes). But it takes way longer than it should. I only landed 3 bleeds on my victory run, its usually just 2 against him. Its like 4 or 5 against bosses actually weak to bleed.

Try using the backhand blades with bleed, respec to get some arc to have more bleed build up. You can also try using a dagger with bleed infused and due to that extra arcane, it should lead to bleeds pretty fast. You could also put blood tax on it to have good bleed build up and heals. I beat Radahn by using the Moore armor and mercy dagger with blood tax, worked like a charm. Hope this works, good luck! :er_uwu:

I killed him with crossbow and kicking

bleed 55 is not really a bleed build. It's like having it as a bonus but you shouldn't rely on it.

I have a bleed sword lance with 168 bleed and I did bleed just fine to C. Radahn.

Blood cross naginata + blood tax ash of war worked for me, just gotta keep poking him often. Shield pokes help keep the pressure on since he attacks so quickly.

55 won't cut it. Get Dane's Dryleaf Arts if you want to bleed him. It's 82 when fully upgraded. I've seen this used by a streamer to kill him. When you and your mimic are both using this then it's almost embarrassing how fast he dies. Fromsoft didn't put these hand to hand weapons in the DLC as a novelty afterthought. They are powerful.

What happens is that the bleed is way too low on that sword, while his resistances are way too high, so at some point along the way as you're attempting to bleed him, due to general damage the boss changes to second phase, and when that happens any ailments gauge he has gets reset.

Use raptors talons. R2 hits 4 times with a single button press, and all 4 hits stack bleed. Add bloodflame to make it more ridiculous.

If you want instant win buttons, stack on both consecutive hit talismans and the tear. You get to the highest stack with a single button press. Add on the fugly white mask and lob talisman.

I had to reload an old save on my desktop and replay the dlc with a worse weapon to gimp myself, because I was skipping entire phases of bosses due to that.
