Anybody else come back for the DLC and found one change needless in the base game?
Did people seriously complain enough to have Torrent added to the Elden beast fight?

I fought him twice recently after my first playthrough 2 years ago, and completely missed that this was added. The fight is still manageable, and doubly so after you learn the moves. If anything I have more issues with Radagon to get to the beast, but the beast is easy enough to dodge in my view in comparison.

I am not really sure why this was added or who really thought Torrent was needed. Yeah the fight involves a lot of running but that's such a tiny complaint that it feels nit picky.

Not going to go the "git good" route with this, but really the fight was fine on its own. Sad to see FromSoft caving in to these sorts of things. They are deviating from their original design more often than not these days with the mainstream appeal.

Hell, this seeped into their other games. Armored Core VI also got huge nerfs to certain bosses which literally made them a joke afterwards. RIP pre-nerf balteus (iykyk), base game radahn, and now the elden beast I suppose, even if optional.

"1. a collapse
2. a submission to pressure; admission to defeat
This is not a cave-in, it is a compromise."

It's over :)
which we have gone over

"but im glad we understand the crux of your issue if you think people finding a bug and talking about it as "pressure" lmao."

Nah dude. Again. That's not it. I am arguing off the basis of the actual definition of the word, which the definition, fits bug or not. Again, I didn't see it as a bug at the time.

"it's been done, you literally cannot even provide an example of them being pressured, to no real surprise."

Go through the other articles I shared. They mentioned those exact things happening. The ones about difficulty. We focused on the Miyazaki interview, but you didn't read my other sources in that comment. Don't ask for sources if you wont bother with them.

"you also didn't talk about torrent, again."

The conversation is over with you. Continue trying to make arguments where there are none my man. I hope you find peace, but it won't be here since you love to argue.
by the actual definition of the word they would need to be pressured, so again, where were they pressured

or are you calling people finding an issue and complaining about it pressure? cause if so: that would be the issue in your argument, as that is not a dev team being pressured.

so you continue to say its over and yet come back to repeat your argument while still continuing to forget to provide how they "caved" which is a bit funny, i admit.

you forgot torrent again, which i suppose is intentional cause we both know no one said anything about including torrent into the fight, clearly this is some sorta phantom pressure, a phantom caving of some sort.

ill be waiting for your next "its over"

and i suppose to just take the piss: just because i disagree with you doesn't mean i like to argue, i just expect you to actually be able to back up your claims with proof, but perhaps that is too much to ask of random people on the internet, especially with something as vague as "caving" which you clearly mean subjectively in your opinion, rather then its literal meaning.

ah yes the classic spamming of someone who totally wasn't trying to troll with his thread, i'd say im surprised but im not.

anyway, answer will always remain the same:just cause you didn't see the need in the feature, doesn't mean its not a nice QoL feature, nor does it make it caving.

I'm honestly impressed at the amount of words and content you have constructed based on the simple fact they added Torrent to the Elden Beast boss fight. You've written a mini-book here explaining how bad it is and why.

Honestly man, if you can't read a simple definition from the dictionary and understand its use cases, then nobody can help you.

You are debating the dictionary at this point. You realize how dumb that sounds?

honestly, if you think your definition applies, you have to show HOW.

i never once said it was not the definition of cave, just not that people finding radhans hitbox wrong as "caving" lmao.

so no, nobody is debating the dictionary, you just need to show how its caving.

which hey: we already went over also.

also: protip, if you think me telling you someone complaining isn't pressure is debating meaning, then perhaps you might wanna look at that dictionary for the term literate, cause your clearly not reading what is said to you.
i agree with the definition you are using as what caving means: now apply it for us, show us how the devs were pressured.

or go back to saying "its over" to spam, no skin off my nose.

Dude. Folks complaining + media outcry + potential loss of sales = pressure

Is that hard to understand? It is in the definition shared more than several times.

which again, i pointed out that people finding a legitmate issue and complaining about it isn't "pressure" that is normal in video games, there are actual bugs we can all find, would you call it pressure if people find a hole they could fall through and instantly died, and complained about it, as pressure as well?

the issue, as i have stated before, is you are considering people rightfully finding issue with a game as the devs somehow being pressured in some manner.

and as for media outcry and potential loss of sales, if you wish to include those, you'd also have to provide examples of those happening for this example.

If there is pressure on the studio? Sure. There's backlash associated to not fixing it. That's pressure. Arguing on the basis of the definition at this point.

Also not surprised you haven't commented on those other articles yet when you asked for them.

take a look at Redfall for not fixing all their issues. Led to the closure of Arkane. Long known for good games. Would that not pressure you?

Of course I don't sit in those meetings where they discuss those things, but it doesn't take a genius to see potential consequences.

im glad we got to the crux of the issue that you'd fine people finding a hole in the ground and complaining about it and the devs fixing it as "caving" that i suppose really shows how badly you want to generalize your point to prove it.

which goes back to the start:

Fixing balance and bug issues isn’t catering to casuals or newbies, is literally just fixing the game.
the entire point of game design is to provide reasonable challaneges to the player, not saying "avoid the glitch hole, if we change it we'd be caving, lmao"

nobody is gonna actually think its reasonable to expect fixing issues as caving in any reasonable way, its just literally what their job is.
