New endgame meta level?
I leveled up to 150 in dlc and stopped, and now wasting millions of runes on smithing stones and i'm kinda tired of it, i'd rather have some more levels for interesting incantations or armor, etc. So any update? 175 or 200 level should be fine meta i think, 150 is easily achieved in mane game to...

Meta is sadly still 125-150. The pvp meta players are pretty hard set that no fun is ever allowed unless you min-max

150

why would it change? it never has after being decided upon for any other dlc in any other souls game.

That's why I'm lv 260 lol. More so to just play around with more abilities.

Was asking this myself a few back, and there was agreement ~150, though some indicated higher.

I think higher than 150 is reactionary to DLC shock, and people not gathering / having not yet found shadow fragments as much as they might in the future.

What I'm doing:

I have 6 of my characters through the DLC now, and I've put them all to 150 flat.

150 is comfy, you can pad end for decent equips, you're not saccing vitality, you can afford a mind pool when that's a thing. Feels good.

My other characters are 80-90, and are part way through DLC. I want to cap them at 100, and will try to stay where they are, relying on skadu to give me boost where my skills are too low otherwise.

The intent being to have those ones more tuned to invade with advantage of dlc stuff vs the naive host.

Thing like bullgoat talisman and beast claws with bloodflame are working well so far, or night claws. The kick arts and blooms 2x WA should work well too Im hoping.

Why would you go past it? If everyone is 40 40 40 ish, there's no build variety. That's a big part of it all. If everyone can do everything, it negates the thrill of it all.
Why would it ever change because you got more runes? Getting runes was never a problem, it was always easy to level up way past 150. If you want to have a boring imbalanced game where you don't have a character and are just the best at everything, you can do that. No one is forcing you to stop levelling at 150.

If you want more dlc invasions the 200 ballpark is correct.

If you want core game stick to 150

That's not correct. My 138 character gets matches about 10x easier than my 200 character.

there are people at 200, but its obviously less.

keep in mind the entire point of the soul level community cap is for when the game dies down, the longer this game goes without content, the more you're gonna wanna stick with the expected meta to find people.

thats why it also wont really change without good reason, the more people who remember 150 the better.

What platform you on.

Console all multi-player is hot right now.

150-200 is instant access all day.

pc, and you just confirmed what you just quoted from me.

150 if of course gonna be the most active cause it is the meta, 200 is too cause its not far off and there is some wiggle room in between, but its obviously less and you can see it during non peak hours.

At what point does open end start? Anyone know?

level up then if you're tired of it, don't let other people dictate how you play, if you really want some multiplayer you'll still find it up to 200

You literally say that regardless of the level the game currently has so many players that you can find people at any level. Why, then, are you lying in your previous comment and claiming that everyone is at 200? Have you tried queueing at a really weird time like 3:30 AM to be able to better see what levels are most popular? Because if you did that you'd see that the higher you go the less activity you get, and the longer it's been since the DLC launched the more and more all times of day are going to get like 3:30 AM. Please don't try to trick people into permanently locking their character into a level range with less activity.

I'm not sure how anyone really knows what the meta is, we don't exactly get data on the most popular online levels.

I have characters from 125-200+ and they all have no problem summoning, getting summoned, or invading in any of those characters. I really don't think there would be an issue if you keep a character at 175 for pvp or co-op. That said, there are tons of larval tears in the game, so if you wanted to try out different builds you don't necessarily need to level up your character (especially considering you can't level back down).

One thing I noticed with 175+ characters, is that if you co-op bosses, you tend to just absolutely steam roll the bosses with other players at those levels, it isn't much fun. If you keep your character at 125, you get more people who genuinely need help, so keep things like that in mind as well.
