black flame blade

what do i need to cast the black flame blade, i got the godslayer seal but it wont work, faith is 27 so it should work

Any seal will do but you have to make sure the right hand weapon can be buffed.

i just found my mistake, it is infused , ichanged it to solid and it worked

any weapon infused with anything other than 'standard, heavy, keen, quality' can't be buffed by spells of that nature, or by greases. they can however be buffed by ash of war effects like sacred blade, etc.

Just a quick note about black flame blade - the effect lasts literally 7 seconds, so you have a very small window after casting to land your shots. It isn't an easy buff to use.

problem could be the weapon itself. You need a weapon with no elemental dmg. Most infused weapons ( unless its keen, heavy, pure physical ones except occult) cannot support weapon buffs that coat the blade in elemental power. Those weapons can only support roars. Get braggarts roar or war cry for a weapon buff, or change the infusion/ use a different weapon. Then you can use the spell.

this isn't inherently true, a weapon can have innate elemental damage and still be buffed, they just can't be if they're infused to one. some easy examples include the flame/black knight weapons from the dlc.

Order blade
