Jolan disappeared

I almost finished the dlc about two weeks ago then made a new character but I went back today to kill Bayle and radahn. After doing so I went to get the sword of night but Jolan is not there. I remember getting the weapon from Ymir's rememberance since I have it in my inventory but I don't think I ever handed Jolan an iris. And I don't have the spirit ashes nor the sword of night in my inventory or chest. Any ideas on what could be the problem?
