Not only that but to quote.

"Unfortunately, like so many wildly successful AAA video game titles, it didn't take long for conversations of crunch, long overtime hours, and low salaries to surround developer FromSoftware.

The discourse began in March, shortly after Elden Ring's release. First spotted by The Gamer, it turns out that a handful of FromSoftware employees were turning to a Japanese job board called Career Connection to discuss poor working conditions and low pay.

For context, Career Connection is essentially a Japanese version of Glassdoor, where current or former employees can leave reviews of their employer to inform potential future applicants about working conditions at a company.

The reviews of FromSoftware left on Career Connection range from 2012 to 2019, with FromSoftware's employee satisfaction rating sitting at 2.6 out of 5 stars. Employee reviews cite low compensation for the workload, 40 months of overtime per month, no maternity leave, and more." -Pulled straight from IGN.

Why they cut so much story out of the DLC?

Because they scrapped it, changed enemy names that DID have a lead of continuation to lore to push the message.

That is my biggest gripe, as someone who has played each Souls game, Demons Souls, Dark Souls, Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring. The story telling has taken a drastic turn for the worse in ER.

Miyazaki is an amazing and talented individual as we have seen from him and his teams in the past. The lore fleshed out to the nines. But now that is not the primary focus it seems.

Absolutely outrageous, the dlc ain't worth a single penny. The fact there's no continuation on the lore or any lore for that matter pisses me off but the fact there's dei detected makes this even worse.

Every from soft game has massive amounts of cut content though.
DS3 story was basically rewritten before launch, every game has a list of cut bosses, some areas, story plots etc.

Sometimes it's a time crunch, other times they just don't make sense, don't work right, not needed, any other reason really

Storytelling has always been bad for the souls series. This game ain't cyberpunk. You see something, you kill it. There are a few merchants and NPCs you don't kill, but in general, you do kill everything and everyone. Then you pretend to read the item description, but in reality watched hours of prepare to cry by vaati about some bull backstory he made up to stretch the history of soldier of godrick over 6 hours to get that sweet YouTube revenue.

Did you read the quote on the initial post. They are causing more "crunches" and screwing the actual DEV teams for monetary gain.

How about you go and play Dark Souls 1 again and actually take the time to read the dialogue from each of the characters. You'd actually get story out of the games that way.

Pretty sure that Vaati and AegonofAstora and the like were not making content on Demons Souls and Dark Souls during release mate. Sorry if you are one of the ones who needs lore explained, try playing the games 15 years ago offline without a PC or internet.

I wasn't replying to the initial post, I was replying to the guy who asked why there was so much cut content.

What is wrong with DEI that makes you so angry?

Assuming we are talking about "Diversity, equity, and inclusion":

In what world does your quote have anything to do with DEI?

Also the quote is cool, the source is better, I see none.

This is pure speculation. There's a million reasons as to why they may have cut/scrapped content. Do you have any proof of this claim?

While I agree the ER's lore is generally mediocre compared to previous games, and contradictory at points, it's the same in both the base game and the DLC, Both Dark Souls 1 and 2 have huge portions of rushed and cut content. With the size of ER, it's unsurprising that those flaws are more apparent.

You have shown no proof of DEI in any capacity, all you did was quoting an article talking about employes working conditions on a website that is well known for not being trustworthy.

Please provide actual sources.
