Multiple Characters at once?

I've got a character about 50 hours into the game, almost at the end.
However I have a mate who is fresh to Elden Ring and wants to play through it with me via the seamless co-op mod.

Can I make a new character to start off fresh with him, while keeping my solo one?

The game has multiple save files for characters. Just don't delete your existing run.

I'm not sure how that mod functions, and if installed in the game it will interfere with your main game if playing online.

Copy out your save file to your desktop.

That way you can create saves before each boss and situation.

Or for the dlc, you can create a save with grace before all boss doors other than Rellana and radahn
