This thing takes like half your HP per tic, its stupid.

Bosses spreading damage pools at random is probably the worst thing expanded on in the DLC

Laurence the First Vicar, but literally everyone.
This includes randomly laid out markers like Lion Lightning and Messmer's Ground Spears

Shoutout to the Furnace Golems who create a thin hitbox ring, but the flaming ground visual itself does no damage, love it, jankier than SotFS

The initial blast is easy enough to evade and the flame doesn't linger that long.
Regarding the damage, the Ghostflame is kind of the precursor to the Black flame.... so you know, it's supposed to hurt.

Considering they don't just spawn those zones out of nowhere without any prior move, I'd say you just need to learn to recognize their patterns and realize "Oh crap he's about to do THAT move" and get out of the way. Kind of like every boss in the game.

Although some magic-resistance gear would also help you!

So you recognize that they're happening after one of his explosion moves. The trick now is to either run back far enough to exit the spawn-range of those pools, or to run behind him since those pools do not spawn behind him.

Hang in there, I hated these damn birds too at first but don't let their threatening chad aura turn you away from how cool they truly are!

I find that scream to be worse. Deals a stupid amount of damage, and it's practically instant. Also builds up death blight, so if it starts spamming it... it's not gonna be pretty.

Yeah he's underselling the 5 way phase 2 explosion of the Deathbirds
The attack is easy to screw up the dodge for since the general area can throw the aim off even if the Bird was clearly in view, and if you go even slightly off being "mid range" to the bird you will get chunked by the flame aura.

At Scadu 17 Vigor 60 the ritual flame did a good 1/7 or so of my HP bar, being a nearly instant spread made it really punishing.

Tbf, the more recent bosses are quite hard, one screw up can wipe up an entire party.

But you’re managing like 10+ players, so there’s that to consider
