Easy mode?
What build is the most easy mode? Every build type seems to have a easy mode style you can make, dexterity can run a status build to melt enemies. strength can stagger lock enemies but if that doesn't work they can equip a greatshield and poke poke poke, sorcery can shoot lasers from across the map, and faith can shoot lightning bolts from across the map. So which is the easiest of them all?

not the DLC, the whole game the one build that is just the easiest overall. that way its more fair i feel, since it seems sorcery and bleed can kill a lot of the base game fairly easily. but greatshield absolutely stomps DLC (and i believe base game too)

The thing which makes GreatShield better in DLC is simply having higher level.

This means more stamina for blocks and more max weight you can carry.
Great Shield builds dont really work well below level 100+
But in the base game level 100 you are allready at Fire Giant and 80% of the game is over...

DLC however starts with 150+ which means Great Shield builds are pretty damn good from the beginning
fair enough actually, didn't consider that. i do feel people overrate the easiness of dex bleed just a little bit, though i've never abused it to its fullest potential (rivers of blood and all that)

Well i have done and testet dex bleed in the past and it was crazy strong and i think its strongest for base game in many situations.
Look at this kill from the past >-<

However for DLC i guess there are easier options.
The problem with Dex bleed is that while you do crazy damage bosses dont have as many openings compared to base game.
So you will get hit a lot

Example: My "barbarian" char can shoot things with a greatbow - and just yesterday I almost destroyed a basically unstaggerable long-combo knight with it before he charged me, then easy to finish off. I use Ghiza's Wheel which has bleed and also easily staggers enemies (and the bleed trigger increases attack power talisman). I use strong crafted pots (I really like volcano pots) and that perfume that gives you the one-hit protection bubble (and also adds that to nearby allies). When I unleash the mimic, there are two strong "barbarians" with pizza cutters on the field, and it uses my consumables, too. I carry Marika's Blessing and one of those "release angry spirit" streamers items which it can also use in combat. I also have a maxed Tiche, a maxed fire zweihander with Flame of the Redmanes (also a great stagger ability), which can be switched to holy if needed, and recently added the anti-dragon great katana, which I could use right off the bat. I have a little Faith to use a few spells like the rot cleansing etc. Just try to be prepared for a wide range of situations and don't just do "one thing".

So far the DLC has been a blast :)
yeah pizza cutter is so fun but so strong lmao

people underrate broad builds and being able to do a bit of everything. i usually try to make sure i can use every "armament" spell since having all statuses and elements can be useful in a pinch

Btw I didn't look it up - when I got it in the basegame I just loved it - and I proudly stand by it :p

I mean in the past i had a different opinion but currently i truly changed my mind due to dlc
and think you are playing this game the "correct way".
which is just use all the tools that increase your personal happiness

the amount of things added in the dlc that improve "role playing" experience is crazy

ok so which is the easiest playstyle of them all

No heavier than medium armour, preferably light, dodge and roll (the most popular by far). For a blade, a strong L1 with preferably a ranged L2 like blasphemous blade. It may not have the range of spells but since you are fighting in close it's a good secondary attack. I have never tried a tank build but given most bosses can kill you with a couple hits anyways it's a lot to sacrifice for mobility. Magic is viable for the first half of the base game where you have time to unleash spells and most bosses can't wipe you out from afar.

Thrusting shield or bloodfiends arm works well

emm. i'm not like most ppl. i think of the bosses as being just gates to the next one. i honestly don't care abt them. I'm more abt exploration/quest/storyline/killing world stuff ... so great shield/ heavy armor, pearlshield talis, dragoncrest, some dps/non-physical protection, dps attack increase etc... spear/something to proc bleed, freeze, or whatever. I carry rot pots, fetid, etc. the ant skull is tier 3 hardness ,btw. hammers bounce off that- and it is poison. for my non-boss stuff, pretty standard - the scale armor set, gives me enough poise, witch hat (dps increase)... Sometimes i mix the spell set in for dps increase on magic/cold. cold-infused katana or other ... Sometimes blood. Depends. I use armor that benefit the weapon and that the mobs in area are weak to. I do make pots, use perfumes, etc. I like to use it all and see what I can get kill easily with:)

Dex Bleed is by a mile, easiest.

Easiest on things like starfist or claws stacked with consecutive attack talisman x2 and tear. Or katana with bloody slash. Add on the fugly surgeons mask for extra cheese.

This is excluding things like Turkey leg or blasphemous blade, that are singular broken weapons.
And this is the fella that has not seen how the entirety thereof has been nerfed, patched and normalized to the point of being average. Safely ignore this bro...
Dex is gud, but not really all that much better than pumping any other damage stat for a build.
Sonnenbank Jul 17, 2024 @ 7:56am
I just tested dexbleed vs strength Hammer on Dancing Lion and my result was that both
are equally easy / strong.

If you do use the correct Talismans , the correct affinities ( fire or whatever the boss is weak to) and the correct ash of wars then a good Strength and a Good dex bleed build will both
delete bosses in 40 Seconds without needing any skill on your side.

video up shortly.
I have found out that i now have a bug where when i tab out of the game while 2 monitors are active i cant use nvidia shadowplay recordings anymore untill i restart pc >-<

Pick one or two weapons you really like using or even three and adjust what damage type you use in different parts of the game
There is definitely stuff thats powerful and easy to use but its best to at least have a somewhat optimal build
also USE BUFFS
Virtuous Saint Jul 18, 2024 @ 1:51am
Dexterity/Arcane build while powerstancing two dual-blade weapons (Godskin Peeler, Eleonora's Poleblade etc.) with bleed buildup, doing jump attacks procs bleed every time because you hit 4 times while in the air if you don't miss. on any boss if it bleeds, you usually kill it within 15 seconds.
