I beg you, help me. Elden Ring ALWAYS crashes since 2 weeks ago. (Crash Event log attached)
I have played for more than 25 hours, not a single problem. Since around 2 weeks ago the game started to crash...more and more frequently. Now it ALWAYS crashes after some minutes of gameplay (5, 10 minutes...sometimes more). It freezes for a few seconds, then I'm back to the desktop. I installed the game again, updated my BIOS, uninstalled Microsoft Gameinput as some people suggested on reddit, added antivirus exception to steam game folder, reinstalled EasyAntiCheat, repaired C+ redistributables, GPU drivers are up to date and I installed Elden Ring updated 1.13.2 with a lot of hope that this nightmare was going to be over.

i7 13900k
Win 11
RTX 4090

I checked event viewer and I found this. Also I see SEVERAL "devicesetupmanager" warning and error events...but I've read elsewhere those are something Windows related that should not affect the game...or maybe yes? Please, let me find a solution for this, I beg you. I never like to bother other people with this things until I really feel I tried everything that is in my (limited) computers knowledge.

Hmm 13 gen Intel....
Try a bios update and check the CPU with occt.

Just to add did you missed the Intel Hardware Problem?
Yeah, nVidia specifically pointed out that if that specific driver module is crashing, it's most likely due to using a degraded 13th or 14th gen Intel CPU.

Thanks a lot for your replies. Yes, I’m aware of the Intel problem. But this only happens with Elden ring. I just played around 110 hours of Red Dead Redemption 2 and even more than than of Infinite Wealth … zero problems. But … yes … maybe that degraded the cpu … right?

If all this log 100% confirms the culprit is my CPU … if I get another one… with my BIOS updated … the problem will be solved?

This sucks. I thought it was something related to the DLC update :(

I’m sorry to bother you, how can I check that? I have a MSI mobo (click bios)

I was about to buy a new processor but... I tried some other games... EA FC24, Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, Cyberpunk...no problems. It only happens with Elden Ring :(

There are other games with different engines with far higher error tolerance.

The log you get points to the Intel problem, check the Support Website of your Motherboard, msi has a howto for the bios update.

As long the bios is not at the newest Version a check of the cpu could make things worse.

Elden ring uses some security functions no other game use that get effected by the Intel problem.
