ELDEN RING
Does a skill have to be fully charged for Godfreys icon to work?
According to the wiki, it works on the skill I want, I just wonder if I have to fully charge and release to activate it or if a short charge will work if I need to get out of the attack fast.

Fully charged, I believe. You can't actually do a short charge on attacks. What you're doing is technically starting to charge the attack up, but then canceling and doing a normal attack. Whenever you try to use a chargeable attack normally, you are starting to charge it, but only for the tiny fraction of a second it takes to release the button/key.

Someone who has actually delved into the programming in detail, feel free to correct me. This is just what I've gathered through playing the game.

♥♥♥♥, all this time, I just assumed it was some sort of curve when it came to charge attack damage. Not that it was a binary switch.

Yeah, it's a little more obvious with some moves like the Knight's Lightning Spear, where when the attack is fully charged you very obviously get some extra projectiles. On a lot of WAs it's kind of hard to tell the precise difference.

I kind of wish you could charge on a curve though, that would make Aspects of the Crucible: Horns a whole lot more fun.

Now that you mention it, when I did a spellcaster character, I always thought Loretta's Greatbow was charged on a curve and that was what determined its range, and that the sound effect with the light on the arrow was just that it had reached it's maximum range.
Damn, all those times i chose to use the charge icon for my WA was a total waste :zagpls:
Whatever, I beat the game! XD
