Does Poise Matter Anymore?
https://youtu.be/SfonDLI6Nf4?si=AmSfphvMMof5e6WR

Just a bit of a thought discussion for those who stay up to date on the PVP scene.

So for those that don't know all power stance light weapons except (dagger, whips) essentially do over 100 poise dmg now.

While is possible to stack more than 100 poise it is rare, typically it's 80 plus bull goats talisman in the level 150 to 160 ranges.

So in that instance really the only thing you need to worry about if you're using a light roll build into a high poise build is hyper armor trading.

Essentially buffing that 100 poise threshold with "temporary poise"

So basically every weapon art, and very big telegraphed r1's.

I gotta be honest I think PVP DLC meta has moved on from poise.

100 poise blasphemous blade user vs i frame blind spot user, or block frame shield attack user and it's not really a contest.

Obviously prior to that all two handed attack would always break 100 poise, then you get your 15% raw dmg on top of that so that was never an issue.

I think 90% of what people call poise they actually mean temporary poise (hyper armor,) because that's the only way you're trading up these days with even fist weapons.

The point is that flat poise at 100 will get broken by two longswords, two curved swords.

Pretty much anything now so unless it's supplemented by temporary poise it's useless.

It doesnt trade powerstance and it never traded two handed.

Just for context I played blue dancer into meta UGS, my L2 blendered him because weapon arts do like 200-300 poise dmg.

Another example people hate Rakasha it's a temporary poise machine. You shield crash through that and you will blender them because weapon art beats poise.

The only time I legit see poise being overpowered in arena would be 200 active poise plus blood hound step or something.

So its like UGS plus fast dodge that would be kinda good.

then it probalby back to your skill at playing the game, but i get it, since last update the pvp are much much more like DS3 where running attack would probalby break your poise, but having high base poise still important especialy if you want gank spank, you don't want to get flinched by one or two hit while doing blackflame tornado etc.
