[PvP] How to deal with great katanas?

I am fuming so hard mates, you have no idea. These weeb sticks have too much going for them: the reach is insane, the hitbox is insane, the damage is insane, they have piercing on them for whatever reason, and coupled with ~100 poise you can just play Mash-en Ring to your heart's content and win most of your duels (tested). Oh, and God forbid it is used by a laggard, then it's twice as bad. So, any tech against this BS?

The Rakshasa one has great poise on it ash of war, but it doesn't mean it will resist any knockdown skill, like lion claw, stamp uperward cut or last hit of blackflame tornado.

I was a banished knight halberd main so I mostly win trade against normal one since I have better range.

Now real talk, I think you can parry them on good latency, but the best way i've found to counter it is to take either a heavy weapon with hyper armor (mostly for invasions) or a fast and annoying weapon like shamshir for duels and just mash against them, play super aggro to they don't get a chance to start chasing you.

Shield Crash through Rakasha L2 spam.

You need decent stamina, and stamina dmg reduction by 20% but you'll tank the whole thing and trade up 800 dmg or so.

There are a lot of great builds that discourage people from pressing buttons in Elden ring.

Even spells, a ranged weapon art, bows, throwing weapons, consumables.

All these things keep people honest.

I think easy mode might be claws of night?

They press a button you fast roll and throw daggers over and over?

parry it, use endure and go to town on em, either of the hand to hand combat weapons but preferably palm blast, quite a long of things you can do against it

tank them with a colossal weapon, give a high poise and high defense to your character and smash these little b**ches

rakshasa will outpoise any colossal unless you put endure on it which becomes not worth since then you will die to bleed

What do I parry tho, the running thrust, the first R1, second R1? The running R1 looks very intimidating to parry, ngl.

any R1, depending on the aow you can parry that.
do not try to parry r2 or jumping attacks, you cannot parry those

excuse me sir. does nightrider halberd also work tho?
my build is init/str build, and both halberd and banished halberd don't deal much damage.

I guess cold affinity isn't good choice since they will wait until their cold stack get cured

night claws work. ansbach's bow. they get locked in the animation and if they're not clever and input queue they'll whiff air again.

make distance, I suppose. raksasha's what I use along with night claws just now.

Small report: Zwei with Upward Cut is goated, you can both out-space and out-mash them. Quite easily, in fact, since 8/10 play GK with no brain attached.

I've played on both sides of the weapon, you are probably not as competent at pvp or barely do any pvp, pvp is the thing I do most
