On my first run I used Haligtree, but it was mostly for the looks, just aim for the one you find with the highest stability you can put your hands on.

Blacksteel, Haligtree, Golden, Redmane Knight's and Godrick Knight's will all work well.

Best options are Blacksteel and Haligtree because of the high holy negation.

Honestly I just killed the thing with Magic, didn’t wanna go near it. 💀 But on a side note, you’re gonna wanna explore to upgrade your scadutree level before even attempting any bosses because the leveling system in the dlc is separate from outside the dlc. Therefore, think of entering the doc as becoming level 1 with a max level cap of scadutree 20. There’s a couple guides/maps that exist that can show you where to find tons of fragments without having to fight bosses! Should be able to reach about level 10-12 before a boss.
