He tends to be annoying and spam them few times in a row
but once he stops hit him with Serpent Hunter jump and running attacks.
I tried running but his stupid skulls were literally blocking out my camera. If I stay locked on to Rykard whilst running I end up getting stuck on random ♥♥♥♥.
Don't lock on until after all the attacks then?
when he goes for the animation you can attempt to abort it with the weapon art of the weapon you find in the arena, if that works just fight on as you feel comfortable, if it doesn't turn away from him and run till you have enough distance to not get hit, than run diagonally across the arena, increasing distance to him .. skulls will look like they hit you but there is a delay before they explode and as long as you are moving in a straight ish line there is no problem..curving around the outskirts of the arena also works - what ever you have to do to stay away from rykards range.
if things get too annoying for you hit him with the weapon art of his anti weapon, look at his left (your point of view right) arm ... he staggers -> slams the hand into the ground next to him -> that's your queue to start up the next weapon art.
You can keep him stunlocked indefinitly like that. If you do it too early it won't work. Weapon upgrades might be required but you got to try, it should stun him every time if you waited for the hand slam.
