Multiplayer issues with friend that plays in console

I want to play Elden Ring alongside a friend using multiplayer but for some reason it doesn't work. This friend plays on PS5 and I play on PC. I bought the game for that sole reason and we can't invoke one another. I also have the multiplayer settings active but I don't really know why it doesn't work. The things that appear there are the matchmaking option, the option for other players to invoke you and the policy agreement. The game also says I'm online whenever I open it. Not only that, I also have the necessary items to play coop.

I am really upset about this because I was looking forward to play with him so much. I would appreciate any kind of help to resolve this issue of mine. Might I add that this friend is around level 500 or so, but he offered to help me in many things by healing me from a distance if I was fighting enemies. Is the level gap between me (level 6) and him (level 500 aprox.) the problem??

Theres no crossplay.

Elden ring is NOT Cross-Platform , U both need to be on the same system (both pc or both ps5)

I wish it was , i got a friend on ps4 too , so i had to buy the game twice pretty much.

It's such a bummer ngl, I wish there was crossplay to not have to buy a game twice...

You can literally look on the store pages for games to see what they feature, if they have cross platform multiplayer, it would have told you, like this does in the feature list, above languages supported:
