You should pay attention to the stat scaling. Since the Golden Halberd scales highest with strength it will always benefit you to increase your strength to continue to increase the damage. If you don't use a shield, it will always be better to two hand it. If you are going to invest more in faith, try golden vow as a complementary spell.
In theory, a weapon you can buff yourself with magic will be better than pre-enchanted weapons, so, my answer is kinda biased since I relied on the GH a lot.
2 good non-enchanted halberds that comes to mind is Nightrider Glaive or Guardian's Swordspear.
Nightrider's has a similar moveset to GH, while Guardian's has a somewhat exotic slashing motion. Both can be buffed.
I'm no expert in the curved sword department, but I heard Scavenger's Curved Sword is pretty good.
