Can’t find Alexander post game

Hi, I have just completed my first play through few days ago, I’m trying to get all the necessary and good items/talismans before starting new game plus, I need the shard of Alexander though I have never talked to him once throughout the play through, if I were to go to his arena in crumbling Farum Azula, will he be there? Because I have tried mt gelmir, Liurnia , remake castle, and limgrave location and he’s no longer there.

Did you check the 'Starscourge Radahn' grace point (the open desert where you actually fight the boss)? If the wiki is to be believed, he should still be scavenging around there if you haven't talked with him elsewhere.

Consult the Wiki regarding Alexander's quest line.

In some cases, certain locations will be skipped as he automatically goes to the next one.

Some locations are mandatory in that he will not move on until visited there.

I don't know if there are any actions that you can take that will terminate his quest line prematurely.

I think you have to swat him out of that hole in the starting zone to start the questline. After that maybe look for him at Radahn's site.

Not true. My first encounter with Alexander was in the tunnel leading to Caelid, but on the Limgrave side of the tunnel.

He is possibly at radahn's site. Check all possible places after that. If you don't talk to him you will not meet him in forum azula.
When I did his quest, I first met him at redmane castle just before I trigger the festival.He wasn't at the first 2 places where he supposed to be. But I had progressed ranni and blaidd quests.

My encounters with Alex went as follows:
- Stuck in hole near the central bridge of Limgrave, not far away from screaming pumpkin soldier;
- Stuck in a cave of Caelid;
- Radahn;
- Only after beating the game, using wiki - he is chilling in lava of Mt. Gelmir not far away from the castle of Firemonks, where you can fight a salamander boss;
- The final encounter - Farum Azula, semi-secret optional path just before Maliketh.
