Buff the Spellblade Set
The Spellblade set is disappointing. Rogier is an interesting character and it breaks my heart how he died so early, but it's surprising how he got out of Stormveil with this tissue paper of an armor set.

There are two good things about this set. One, it's light. Very light. Way lighter than it honestly should be considering all the excess fabric on it. The heaviest piece, the unaltered Traveling Attire, is a mere 3.3 pounds. The second is its unique buff to magic weapon skills, at 2% more damage per piece up to 8%. The description states "glintstone sorcery skills", but it applies to more than just the Glintstone Pebble Ash of War. It buffs any skill and ash of war that deals magic damage. You might notice that this includes Carian Grandeur, but I'd put a pause on that enthusiasm for a moment.

The big, crippling weakness of the set is its very low protection, specifically physical damage negation. A total of 8.9 physical negation, and an even lower 6.0 strike negation, puts it lower than many 3-piece and even 2-piece sets in terms of protection, and its elemental resistances are slightly below rate. This would be manageable for a conventional spellcaster, but for a set that wants to use weapon skills it is absolutely backbreaking. 8% damage on your Carian Grandeur doesn't matter much to begin with since so many other weapon skill buffs exist, but it especially doesn't matter since you will die before it goes off. It doesn't even make a good Blue Dancer Charm setup, if one could even exist, because the BDC only buffs physical damage scaling.

There are two buffs this thing needs: One, its physical resistances and weight need to be upped. Not to any insane degree, but a simple +3 to its total weight and physical, slash, strike, and pierce resistances would put it near other cloth spell-themed sets like the Traveling Maiden set. Two, its bonus needs to be boosted, and I have two ideas for this: A simple one, and one that is probably overtuned. The simple choice is to make it +2.5% damage per piece instead of just 2%, letting you eek out a bit more damage even if you don't use the full set. The second, far stronger one is a 3% bonus per piece, plus an additional 3% if you have at least one piece. This would add up to 6% at one piece, 9% at two, 12% at 3, and 15% at 4. This sounds insane, but considering you'd be using cloth armor in melee range it might be a good trade-off.

True Combo: Naginata (spear weapon basically) + Glintstone pebble. Pebble has terrible range and a linear trajectory. But if you manage to outplay your opponent into a hit, the followup magical imbued attack you get deals massive damage. We are talking Pebble 700, pebble + strike 2100 damage. thats what i did with the set.
