I fuc*in hate Radahn in DLC!!!
I just can't beat him. I'm not the worst not the best ER player but with time, and more tries, i found out how to beat all bosses in ER and in DLC.

But i fuc'in can't beat this dude and it's driving me crazy. Second phase ist just so insane, sometimes you can't do anything cause he is attacking for ages and his ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ attacks go almost all over the area...

i really love this game but this boss made me quit today. It's not even fun anymore and i lost all interest in trying again.

What do you think about this specific boss?

Not worth it, you did the right thing by quitting. Saved your eyes too, FromSoft could've atleast put an epilepsy warning for the second phase.

SC Radahn used to be a nightmare prior to nerf, but they decided to bring it back for the DLC.

i just love it, if feel like final bosses for MHW ICE, like hte first time i fought agaisnt raging brachideus solo, but after i beat other bosses feels like in slow motion, radhan it is hard but not imposible, you can beat it with any weapon for be honest, but you need to think different in my case i learn how to kite some attacks and the key is rahdan is to big, theb the first phase he is clumsy if he start to move in one direction it is hard to him to make a sharp turn, gravity pull is punishavle when he pull you roll 3 or 2 with light roll times out and strat to punish with some pot, or spell, you have like 2 sec for punish after the double attack, and if he just do 1 frontflip you have even more time, for second phase if you are melee just hug the boss as posible or walk backwards, the lgiht ♥♥♥♥ have the same direction and position than the edge of the swords its like a double slash, if anyhing else just use a shield and poke him to dead

bring a wall, and poke him with a stick.

Use a shield, and stick, or a bleed build. Summon a phantom mimic to do the same. Don't summon a player or npc to help, as it makes him do more damage and have more health.

First phase enjoyable, but sadly second phase gave me a headache with all the lights flashing every second.

I got through it yesterday after several tries, with two jolly cooperators who both had bleed, and myself using impenetrable thorns. Having three players with bleed, one of whom had a great shield that mostly kept aggro off of me, made it relatively easy. Though I still almost died a few times.

I love Elden Ring, it's easily one of my favorite games out there. And I mostly enjoyed the DLC despite my issues with it. One of those issues being that some of these bosses are not fun at all to get through.

But this boss fight was atrocious. There isn't a single good thing about it. The DLC is part of my second playthrough of ER, and first NG+ playthrough. I plan to do a third for the third ending achievement, and I will skip the DLC for that.

I might do it again someday, but I need a mental break from it.

Edit: I'd also like to say that I've had basically no performance issues for the entire DLC, and his fight is the one glaring exception to that. Every time he would wind up and execute his near arena filling AOE attacks, my FPS would typically fall well below 30.

Edit 2: I also find it disappointing on another level. That being, I've already seen this guy. They could've made the last boss Miquella, or saved Messmer for last, but they made us fight Radahn again. Same guy, and even the rewards for beating him are pretty close to the original. A poor decision in my opinion to make him the final fight.

I beat him on my blind playthrough, no summons, no ashes, no shield, just a sword in my hand. BUT it took me around 200 tries until he finally took his last breath while i was literally sleep walking, knowing every move of his and being really bored and annoyed... there are two major flaws in this fight:

1. The ultra fast 3-slahes combo out of nowhere
No matter which strategy you are going for (parry or doge rolls) you really need to avoid standing on his feet all the time in P1, otherwise you will get 1-2 combos right into your face and that could either 1-2 shot you or cost too much healing pots at this early stage of the fight.

2. Phase 2 lightshow
It is a nightmare for the eyes (especially when you are 50+ years old like me).
You can hardly see what Radhan is doing behind all those flashing lights. Also the new special attacks of P2 are numerous and you need to learn how to dodge each single one of them. By the way, when he rises into the air, that attack, it can be dodged 100%. If you stand right next to him it is actually a very good opportunity to punish him. There is a certain short sound in the music, if you hear this, simply jump and you wont get damage. Also, the P2 aoe holy attacks that come along with his regular P1 attacks need to be avoided by literally standing on his feet when parrying or dodging his attacks.

In this rare case i really have to agree that the fight is poorly designed at least partly.

Either parry him or use greatshield + spear build.

Let me just say that I am impressed you managed to bang your head against the wall that is Consort Radahn 200 times in a row, and broke the wall before you broke your head.
FashionSuckMan Jul 30, 2024 @ 12:34pm
aint gonna beat him with that attitude

andh is second phase is literally the same as the first, you just have to roll forwards to dodge the lasers that spawn in front of him. and he has like 4 i think new special moves you have to learn how to dodge. And the ground eruption move he has fire lasers outwards, its not bad, Here, you can watch me fight him. https://youtu.be/ZSKxBNNrZS0?si=7jdGKRD9zuTlyGFU

I plan to do a third for the third ending achievement, and I will skip the DLC for that. The most common strat I see for it is to rebuild your character to be able to use a giant heavy shield and then poke him to death from behind it. That tells you everything you need to know. It sucks.

I might do it again someday, but I need a mental break from it.

From a lore perspective, I think the power of PC Radahn is probably closer to a demigod's in prime. When you look at other demigod bosses they are all pretty much past their peak and have some conditions that put them at disadvantage. I think PC Radahn is supposed to be how an Empyrean at peak performs. From a gamer perspective though, it feels unfair and sort of stupid to make us face a demigod at peak just head-on. Fromsoftware should have created a better even design, and given some tools to the player that make the bossfight more engaging. fun, and logical.

But I think they could still make him a really challenging fight that is friendly to "lore perspective", while still being a reasonable obstacle to overcome. And to be honest, I don't think they were taking lore into consideration when they made the fight. I think more likely they just approached it with the mentality of "let's make this hard as :pooangry: and throw as much at the player as possible, because it's the last boss in our super hard DLC." Either way though, it's the worst boss I've ever had to fight in a Fromsoft game, or maybe any game I've played.
