wanting to complete a game properly is a pretty normal thing, but a game that lets you do everything in a single run does not have replay value, that isn't necessarily a bad thing but it is on the game's end.
the bosses in elden ring do not change no matter what ng you are on, that means they have no replay value because it will be the exact same every time you fight them

I can see what you mean, but I think that you and many people take for granted one of the biggest, if not THE biggest benefits of an open world:

Having the choice to NOT go somewhere.

And if you want to, you can go there on your next playthrough, possibly ignoring other side content you already did in favor of seeking the stuff you passed by before.

I disagree that it is normal to do it all in one go. You don't do anything else like that in real life, and if you did people would surely notice how abnormal it is.

Thanks for idiotic post of the day. Those are exactly the goals I set. In fact, I eliminated every boss before lvl 130 so I could pursue them unhindered. By the time I gathered everything I could find I was over 200. Who are you to dictate how others play? You’re the one that needs help. Btw, I don’t play NG+ for the simple reason I can’t be bothered going through the same quest line. When developers make an effort to add dynamic quests and locations I probably will but that’s not likely to happen anytime soon. Not that they can’t, but they are unwilling because they don’t have to as long as people are defending NG+ as is.

The average player wants to explore most the game world, if not check items off a spreadheet in a methodical way.

The average player also doesn't want to make 50 cosplay builds, so it's fine for most people to do one massive run, and call it a day.

The historical (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) Fromsoftware questline design pattern also encourages FOMO, so many people are incentivized to follow a guide
