Divine consort Radahn
Got to him again and this time decided to fight him regularly instead of being an absolute gigatank who can trade.

I absolutely see why people dislike this fight, you don't really get time to attack more than 1 or 2 hits per attack combo making the fight last an eternity.

long lasting attack combos, the large range gravity attack comes out without any visual queueu and you need to react to it immediately to not take guarenteed damage.

second phase is visually cool but the attacks are not fun because they come out stupid fast, a couple of the phase 1 attacks get an extra hit at the end you also need to roll resulting in less attack window, and if you fail to roll an attack you get punished even harder because of the light that comes after.

not to mention that he hits like a freight train even though I am using one of the highest defensive armor sets with a defensive tear in my flask.

this basically feels like a malenia situation but worse because you cannot punish radahn as much because he doesn't stagger to strong attacks and hits much harder than malenia does.

visually its a very cool boss but the fight honestly just is not fun to learn as much as I want to do so.

I agree with everything you said except this.

To me second phase is visually complete disaster.
Like some cheap anime cartoon.

I think Consort Radahn could've been a great boss if it wasn't for his 2nd phase. 2nd phase fills your screen with so many particles, lights and holy attacks that it's incredibly hard to see Radahn's attacks sometimes. Remove the particles and holy attacks or atleast make the holy attacks not so bright and the boss would be instantly better.

just git gub it have visual indicator and you can kite some attacks and combos,
for fronflip you need to dodge in 2 way with light roll just roll in the attack rahdan will miss the hit the punish, for double cross is 1 roll out and walking if he dont use the earthquake then punish if he use the earthquake quickly 2 roll in and try to ain the back of radhan, for gravity pull again with light roll is 2 roll out and wall a little and you will be out the attack you can use some pot for do dmg when it casting,

second phase just hug the boss when he is doing combos for phase 1, the light rain will not hit you if you are hug with the boss, for meteor ♥♥♥♥ is exactly like the first but you need to spamm a little more the roll, for gravity pull its the tricky it will do double pull then i think thats the more anyoing part just roll out, if anyhting else fail, grab a big shield with big boost guard use the amulet for even less stamina dmg and just poke him to death, in that stratgy you just need to watch for cross attack, erthquake and gravity pull, nearly all other attack you can in some way tank it, also if you stamina bar is below 15 % dodge and w8 to refill then again guard and poke,

if you are mage use just fast casting spell and proably a light shield with good physical dmg negation, you windows for punish when will be when he is walking ,after the frontflip and gravity pull for gravity as a mage is the same roll 2 to 3 times out and punish 2 with light roll and a little walk will me enoguht for not be dmg, when he is walking after the combo you have like 3 to 5 sec for cast, and for meteor moon spell can destroy the meteorites

I can tell you have not done the fight at all, or you did it with fingerprint shield, can't be asked to read from the moment you said "git gud" since from that point forward any argument you might have is worthless

thats subjective i love learn rahdan , i kill him 2 as a tank once as a mage and with 2 double fast sword, the harder was as a mage, with the 2 fast weapons and as a tank was not as hard, also first phase have 3 safe of space when you can punish like when he is walking, after the frotflip, in gravity pull if you have some for range attack, second phase was the real ♥♥♥♥, but at the end the light just follow the swing of the sword also you can kite some attacks, some combos are trigger for distance then you can try to kite, also use a shield even the lightens of shield will help you to tank 1 attack like with the silver mirror shield, it will block 100 of physical dmg absortion. as a mage is the hardest way the time for casting spell even with full cast reduction it is just to thigh between attacks it have just 2 punishable move for big spells in phase 1 gravity pull and meteor, meteor is good use moon it will destroy the meteorites, and gravity anithing you want, and for phase 2, when he use the light ♥♥♥♥ just run and cast a big spelll i thing is the only moment you can cast save if you run fast enough rahdan will do nothing for some seconds, whit big bonk the strategy is similar to fast weapons but instead status effect you want stagger him, i just not comfortable with big slow weapons i try like 20 times with big weapons but since ds1 i play with light roll and fast weapons XDDD

Like some cheap anime cartoon.

Considering the development company, and where they are based. It makes sense.

Don't forget, he also does his meteor nuke attack in 2nd phase, and AFAICT it automatically targets the host no matter what. I'll be on the entire opposite end of the arena, because I respect "let me solo" people but i still want Ansbach's stuff, and he just decides to target me full force, and it's very difficult to see when to actually dodge because of all the particle effects cluttering the screen.

Yeah the boss just is not designed well, it goes way out of the "hard but fun" area that malenia was in and is just outright in "I'm not having fun, this isn't fun to do" territory

Second phase is complete trash, I am honestly surprised many people outside of extremely good hardcore players have beat it...the entirety of the base game and dlc are a complete cake walk joke compared to it and I have done literally everything. I can get to the second phase in about 15-20 seconds if I don't mess up my panic rolls and then I just get nuked...I don't know if the aoe stuff is just unavoidable or what...even it its not, the visual clutter going on makes in it pretty much impossible to avoid, at least for me. The 2 Cooperators you can summon must be some kind of inside joke since it makes the fight infinitely more difficult if you summon them. I guess eventually I'll just use a big ass shield and scarlet rot him or something....seems lame.

Just imagine if Radahn healed when he hits you like Malenia does. :sergeySomeday:
The second phase is a chore and not enjoyable imo

I love when a boss fight gives me eye cancer. Peak design:steamthumbsup:

This is my plan as well.
I don't want to respec so I play co-op and leveling up Strength for greatshields.

I still have few other ideas how to fight him but first I want to have
shield strategy in my pocket before I continue my experimentation.

At last SOMEBODY gets it. I swear past morgot and into the DLC the bosses are designed to be walking blobs of indistinguishable visual noise with all the lasers and fire and particle effects.
