Spirit ashes now have more HP , do more damage and take less poise damage

It goes without saying that if you summoned you didn't play the game.

There is one exception to that rule though... if your skill level is so low and you can't improve at all to the point where it's physically impossible for you to actually play the game, then summoning is excusable.

I mean spirit Ashes made the game tremendously easier before the patch.
So making it even easier doesnt matter too much.

Arguing about Spirit Ashes being base difficulty and not using them being hard difficulty will not lead to anything.

I disagree.
After 5 hours of torment, I summoned mimic (for the first time in my life) at the final DLC boss only to have it edgewalk around the arena about 100meters away from the boss.
I'd say if I hadn't done it, I would've missed out on something. :D

I prefer playing the game without spirits or summons because I have an easier time not having to worry about where the boss aggro is.
but hey if you want to play with spirit ashes thats up to you, they are there to use, why care what others think of it

Yeah mimic behave weirdly maybe because of the nerf, always preferred tiche but i've seen it too.

Take a look at DLC review count to get an idea why they did it. 75k reviews, 71% positive, out of 600k+ people playing DLC at launch. You can tell that people have been ragequitting DLC en masse, so they had to either nerf bosses or buff players. They chose to buff summons.
