Torrent the steed is bugged

Don't know what I did to deserve this, saved and quit while I was on torrent and now whenever I try to get on or off torrent it asks me to revive it, regardless of if its alive or not, anyone have any thoughts on how to fix

I am having the same issue. It doesn't consume a flask, it just asks every time. I am playing the original game no DLC, using flawless widescreen, and offline mode for what it's worth.

You could try jumping off a cliff while on Torrent. Sounds crazy but maybe glitch it back into working correctly. Just make sure you can get back to where you dropped your runes.

Yes, amazingly I didn't have to do anything. What I did the last patch was copied the original Elden Ring exe file and renamed it to start_protected_game.exe to fix it the last time. I am unsure if that was the reason I had no problems this time.

As to the original problem I let myself get ended while mounted by enemies and that didn't fix the steed bug.

Sure sounds like the flawless widescreen mod is the issue, as both OP and the first commenter have that mod.

I had the same issue this morning, and it didn't matter which character I used or even if I reverted to an old save backup. I fixed it by going into the game properties in Steam and verifying game file integrity.

so the new update added a new exe into the mix and adds back the protected game file, delete the ones you made and redo the files

Can also confirm this was the issue. Validated files and re-setup Flawless Widescreen (replacing the EAC with the EldenRing.exe) and I am back up and running without the popup every Torrent summon.

it shouldn't revalidating files should fix it, you'll need to fix the file structure to get widescreen back but if it doesnt fix it i'd try reinstalling the game
