ER can crash due to corrupt drivers, or dll files -> update also DX. I've read that a re-install of Microsoft Visual C++ helped them out.

i doubt they nerfed bleed damage as a whole but rather the bleed damage of the specific thorns spell that was being abused pre-patch, and if they did buff bosses resistance to bleed it was probably just the dlc bosses
