Phantom deaths after returning from coop and losing all runes.

Yo! I'm just gonna jump right to it and skip intros:

For starters, I've beat the game and the DLC recently. Pretty pumped. That said, I figured that other people may need help, so I like to hop on and send out the "I'll help you sign." I just enjoy the challenge of it. What's been happening however, is sometimes, after a coop session and I return to my "world", the game spawns me into a literal death fall. It's funny because of how unexpected and random it is, especially considering the fact that there aren't any cliffs when this has happened. The kicker is I am unable to retrieve the runes. The icon literally gets stuck in the air. I just lost over 5 million runes due to this.

This happen to anyone else? If it's not too common I suppose I will uninstall/ reinstall to see if that fixes it.

Hackers can do things like that. I'm not saying it IS a hacker, but it's possible. I highly suggest re-installing.
I got hacked as a gold phantom; my character literally teleported to the host, backstabed the host, teleported way into the air, fell and died. I alt-f4ed out, cuz I was scared my save might have been messed with. I manually backup my saves now.

I had that happen today upon loading up my game at the Golden Hippo site of grace (Main Plaza). No co-op, though. it was also the first time that has happened to me since the DLC's release. Runes were retrievable.

Its a rather uncommon but not too rare glotch. Sh.t happens from time to time lol.

Reinstall wont help because its just a bug in the game ^^

I had that happen one time, but not from PvP. Irritating, I know. Someone mentioned that they 'killed' Messmer that way accidentally.

That is unnerving. It seemed to be area specific. I was chilling in the run down, underground church area in shadow keep when this was happening. Hasn't happened since, but it did occur 4 times in a short period of time. Might just be a glitch there after a coop session?

If you don't mind a glitch kill cool, but that sucks and is weird imo. There are some strange glitches in this game. Bonny gaol having one of the most irritating. I think it's Bonny- The boss straight goes invisible during the fight making it unbelievably challenging. I was able to pull out the mimic and he beat the boss for me though, lol.

The boss going invisible there is intended though, if you mean the Lamenter. The Bonny Gaol has... the Demihuman Swordsman iirc? He should not be invisible, yeah.

The boss going invisible there is intended though, if you mean the Lamenter. The Bonny Gaol has... the Demihuman Swordsman iirc? He should not be invisible, yeah.

I must be thinking of the wrong Gaol then. The boss holds dual circlet type weapons.

Ok, I just googled that dungeon actually. Ironically, that boss is indeed intended to turn invisible, but it's not the boss I was thinking of. DH Swordsman Yosh is found in the Belurat Gaol, and the Lamenter (who can also turn invisible in a different sort of way) is in the Lamenter's Gaol.

This actually just happened to me. I was connecting to a world over by the Rose Church in Liurnia, connected and helped someone fight Commander Gius, the host died and I died at the end too mid-jump, nothing crazy, hit the ground and everything. Loaded back into Liurnia, couldn't see my own character, and was just in a gray void, died, lost my runes (thankfully not too many), and then respawned and saw that my lost runes sign is pointing me into the north western seas...but it's not on my actual map. It's on my compass, but not the map.

Same thing actually happened to me weeks back when I was connecting to a host on a lift in the DLC area, and I went and died in their world, okay come back to my world. Oh, I'm in the elevator shaft falling, quick! PAUSE QUIT and see if I can try to time it better and just fast travel to a site of grace when I load back in! Okay, I load back in...I'm in the upper left corner of the map in the void of the overworld, NOT the DLC. I died. I check my map again, my plethora of lost runes are unreachable in the upper left corner of the overworld map...what the crusty nipples, From Software?!
