There is a varaity of armor, talismans, and consumable items that can increase your resistance to Scarlet Rot, represented by the Immunity stat. The Cleanrot armor has particularly strong Immunity for it's weight and is farmable near the Heart of Aeonia grace.
The Flame, Cleanse Me spell can cure it when it does trigger, as can the Preserving Boluses sold by some nomads. You can also stack HP regeneration sources like the Blessed Dew talisman and the Blessing Boon spell to take the bite out of both poison and rot, and make it easier to wait out.
If you get rot fighting Malenia or Romina you are rogered so if thats the main reason of this thread do your best NOT letting both ladies rot your face.
Oh....you can also remove the residual rot build up after rolling in a rot surface with SOAP!
I always thought soap was used for when you get bloody. Never actually used the item.
