holy weapons dlc in main game

I thought that holy weapons killed skeletons and such (those who stand up 1 more time) in 1 kill. But apparently the dlc holy weapons don't work in the main game?

Are you sure you’re not thinking of DSR? Haven’t heard of this mechanic in ER before

None of the holy weapons in the dlc are sacred as far as i know. Only golden order greatsword and Inseprable sword(as well as 2 small swords whose names i cant remmber right now) are sacred and finish off undead on the first kill.

Golden Epitaph does as well, as well as it's AoW.

Holy weapons that specifically are related to the Int/Faith incantations lorewise kill those who dwell in death.

Holy damage alone won't permanently kill skeletons.
Only selected few weapons and Ashes of War have that ability.

Sacred Blade Ash of War for example.

Holy damage itself does not prevent resurrections, it just happens that all anti-undead weapons happen to do holy damage as well. It's a separate ability enabled for specific weapons and can generally be seen in the lore-blurb attached to that weapon.

Most commonly used examples are the Golden Epitaph, the Inseparable Sword, the Golden Order Greatsword, The Treespear's Ash of War, and anything buffed by the Sacred Order spell.

You're thinking of divine weapons from Dks1. Holy weapons don't perma kill skeletons in ER, but the sacred blade ash or incantation will do that. Anything that says it's especially effective against those living in death in the description does perma kill them.
