Banned for using seamless co-op

Just a PSA to players:
Careful with seamless co-op, I was apparently banned for 180 days for it.

Edit: I was banned because I accidentally extracted the mod to the Elden Ring folder itself, instead of the Elden Ring/Game folder. I admit it's my own fault, but I feel that's a very easy mistake to make, its only one file previous. At the time I simply wasn't paying attention, as I was updating ersc from nexus mods. I'm sad that was enough to ban me for 180 days :/

I always was intimidated to mod fromsoft games, the ban bot always seemed aggressive yet inconsistent

You have to really, REALLY screw up to get banned due to using Seamless Co-op. The whole mod is practically fool proof.

it literally has built in disabled EAC, you have to fundamentally be doing something to re-enable it to cause something like that to happen.

Yeah unless you move your Seamless Saves over to the base game you cant get banned from using Seamless.

I wish I could show you my files! I've never cheated in souls haha, in fact I've been quite irritated in the past by people hacking. Anyway I have indeed received a ban for doing nothing but using seamless co op. You all act like its impossible but much stranger things have happened. It sucks

i mean the easy thing to do would be to show us the 180 day warning.

you're the first person in 2 years to ever get banned for using the mod, so its very unlikely you got it because of the mod itself, but rather through something else you did.

I'm thinking it was when I accidentally extracted the seamless co op folder and exe to the steam/common/ELDENRING folder, instead of steam/common/ELDENRING/Game

It's literally impossible if you did everything right. If you messed up, then yes, a ban may occur.

The only way Seamless could get you banned is if you take you seamless save and try to convert it for use in the base game. The summoning tool in Seamless is a modified file which is the issue.

If you never try to convert your save, then there's no threat of getting banned. Don't know what OP is talking about.
