Why are there so many crabs in this game? What's their deal?

What's their problem? Are they the cause of the elden ring worlds despair and ruin?

I was killed by a giant crab early in my play-through (this is my first souls game) and now I want revenge. So I fight any crabs I encounter

What is the in-game lore reason for all these overly aggressive, rude and gigantic crustaceans?

It can feel like that.

A certain mutual aqu... ac.... a certain person both Alby and I know is community banned for 9 weeks (4 or so left I think) for super obnoxiously flimsy reasons and can't post anywhere on Steam, has their actual profile locked down into full privacy mode (can't edit or set privacy status) but doesn't even show up as banned on the forums as far as I'm aware.

It's like Steam wants everyone to think they just left or something.
