Furnace golems stagger but they dont fall down
Hello, I am trying to hit the feet of the furnace golems in the dlc so they fall to the ground and I can hit the critical spot, but many times I hear the stagger sound, the golem stops for a while but doesn't fall down.

What am I doing wrong?

They fall down after 2 or 3 staggers. Just keep going.

Just what they said, you can also try a high stagger weapon clubs maces or big bonk weapons work too.

Exact 3
I found the best strat was to focus on one leg until it staggers, then swap to the other. After the third stagger it should fall. Then get the crit and repeat. Usually dies on the second crit.

Further confirming what they said, "stagger" 1 and 2 are just stuns, stagger 3 makes them fall down for a crit.

Also, it has nothing to do with the weapon's poise damage, it's just a certain amount of damage you need to inflict to the legs for each stagger. I've beaten these things down with both colossal weapons and light weapons, the colossals didn't have any notable advantage.

Also you can throw a furnace pot after crit to oncecycle them. No need to waste time foe the second riposte.

Probably a scaling thing
Yeah, you just have to do it a few times and if you haven't seen it happen, then you must be having a hard time getting to that third, here are some tips.

If you're using stuff like magic, I tend to lock into one leg, get the other leg in between and cast. Hitting both legs does a ton of damage, especially with stuff like Shard Spiral.

While I'm a huge unga bunga enjoyer, a faster weapon is more advisable since the damage is absolutely insane.

Get yourself the Flame, Protect Me incant. It makes most everything in the DLC easier to deal with.
