ELDEN RING

ELDEN RING

Faster Strength weapon for Riposte?
I've been bumbling around Promised Consort Radahn for a little while.
I tend to just have at him a few times, and then I just get off Elden Ring and go do something else.

I've pretty much got his entire first phase mastered.
I can no-hit him in Phase 1 doing either parries or blocking with the Deflecting Hardtear (and two-handing my weapon).

I was hoping to squeeze a bit more damage out of my ripostes if possible.

I've been using the Misericorde (with Heavy affinity). My character currently has 60 STR.

I tried using Gaius's heavy thrusting weapon as it seems to do mostly Pierce damage, but I found it to be a bit too slow to get an R1 in after each parry.

I used Milady as well but the damage is definitely lesser.

My build is not very optimal, I'm sure. RL150
60 STR, 50 VIG, 25 FTH, 18 DEX, 16 MND. INT and ARC both 10.

Is Misericorde still the best thing for me to use with these stats?

---

I'm mostly just grasping at straws at this point.
Doing 2-3% more damage isn't gonna win me the fight in Phase 2.
I just need to not get exploded by Holy farts.

Maybe a Greatspear? I don't play parry builds much, so I'm just kinda guessing.

Misericorde having 140 crit is a big factor when going for ripostes. Considering you feel sword lance is too slow, rusted anchor probably won't feel any better, but I'm giving it as an option anyway.

There's also the new thrusting shields that you could take for a spin, slap cragblade on it and it should do some good damage. Although you probably won't be able to get the buff back, since Radahn doesn't give you a lot of room to buff. You could also try infusing the great katana with heavy. It got stabs, and could perhaps have the balance in damage and speed you're looking for?

I don't have the numbers on speed, but I think great katanas are a bit faster than heavy thrusting swords?

You are using Dagger Talisman I hope?
Did you try with Fire Affinity?

Lightning Misericorde do more damage in ripostes
than Keen for me on regular enemies, don't know about Consort.

I still have gankers to kill :-)

I had a go with the Messmer's Soldier Spear (Greatspear) and the Great Katana, both Heavy.

Both of these weapons obviously hit harder than the Misericorde but I found that they both took too long to recover after a single R1 that I am unable to parry Radahn's next attack.

The Greatspear about matched the riposte damage of my Misericorde however. Which isn't a huge amount.
I deal ~5050 in a riposte with the Misericorde and about the same with the greatspear.
The heavy Great Katana only did 3K damage on riposte.
