How do you beat the two gargoyles?
Im going to nokron for the 2nd character playthrough. I have a bloodfang sword strength/dex character around level 88. They seem to jump out of the way anytime I want to use the bloodfang finesse ash of war.

Ive been using the great jar arsenal, radagaon soreseal, dragon talisman, mix potion of opal and strength. Ive tried buffing up with flame grant me strength and commander standard. I'n not very fast switching weapons.

I have a great star club I could try it since strike is better for these? I think these are immune to blood loss. My bloodfang is upgraded to 6+ and I havent finished volcano manor and ive not gone into Lyndell yet.

Im also struggling with the great fallen star beast thing.

They are immune to blood loss but Great Stars is very good against them.
If you have high Dexterity don't forget to make it Keen Affinity weapon.

Ranged attacks are very useful against Gargoyles.
For example Storm Blade AoW.

They are resistant to piercing and slashing,
avoid weapons doing these types of damage.

The gargoyls are very weak to strike damage. On a Dex build you can farm the fire-monks using a flaming mace, it has the best dex scaling of all the maces and deals strike damage. But honnestly any mace should do the trick, they take full damage from it anyway, compared to only 60% flom slashing damage, so any +24/+9 mace will do more damage than your BHF.

Hyper-aggression on the first one. Even if it means taking damage and trading hits, get the first one down first at all costs, ideally whip out the largest, heaviest, bluntest stick you can find to bash them over the head with. Once one is down, the remaining one isn't a huge threat.

Alternatively, if you're using summons, one of those can take aggro on one boss while you deal with the other. Don't get hung up on people's elitism, if you want to use summons, do it.

im not that far along in upgrades. Do I really need +24? I have +16 if I need it on smith weapons or +7 with somber. I havent progressed into lyndell yet or other places to get higher tier of upgrades.

In single player, it feels very much like a DPS race. Thankfully, bosses during multi-fights are a lot less aggressive now, so you only need to focus on one at a time.

If you're using spirit ashes, I'd try and create some distance from you and the boss, then during phase two, bring in a mimic or something similar to buy time while you kill one of them.

Bringing a friend so you can both have a boss to fight is also not a bad option.

For solo approach, try and keep them both in your line of sight as much as possible. I think it's best to avoid direct combat when the twin-blade is out. And ofc, run away from poison mist.

I went toe to tow with the star beast with great star club +16ish. I wasn't doing much damage. lucky to get 220 on light about 300 on heavy attacks. I was using torrent since getting bogged down on foot made it a different challenge in its 2nd phase. Waiting for those openings for 1 bonk and it turns into a 30 minute battle. does it always take this long?

yeah thats where i would get screwed is when i didnt have them both in sight. the twinblade one tends to be more aggressive and clear the distance. Yeah those poison mists can be terrible especially if you get flanked.

Can i get a mimic tear ash before the gargoyles? i thought it was beyond that fight.

Storm Blade is only usable on swords.

But you can use Beast's Roar on strike weapons
if you fed some Death Root to Beast Clergyman in Dragonbarrow.
