What is the point of the haligtree? Why does Miquella need to get "kidnapped" by Mogh, why not just work with him? Why does Miquella need Radahn if Malenia is stronger and he's just going to mind control everyone anyway? Why does Miquella even need to have Radahn killed in the first place, just mind control him over (isn't there a "vow" anyway, just like the final cutscene says)?
Miquella alone turns out to be absolutely garbage lore, not to mention St Trina which is completely disconnected from the main game (so St Trina was going around spreading poison everywhere, killing everyone with her "nectar"? why? makes zero sense).
And Miquella too. They built him up so much in the base game and made it seem like he had some crazy plan. Which I guess he kind of did, he did become a god for the final fight. But what was the point of the Haligtree, the unalloyed gold, and all of the Godwyn/eclipse stuff? It doesn't even get mentioned at all in the dlc. I've seen some people theorize that due to his curse of eternal youth, he starts and abandoned projects like a child would do. But that seems disappointing as well. The genius and fearsome Miquella that Malenia and others dedicated their lives to is just a little kid with ADHD?
Plus the DLC and main game basically have zero connection at all, except for the Miquella, Radahn, Mohg stuff. Other than that there is basically zero connection with anything else in the main game.
I could keep going about other things I feel are lacking but this is already long enough. Overall tho, I did really enjoy the DLC and I did like (most of) the lore they did give us. I just wish they gave us some more and didn't leave so many loose ends.
