Farm whatever you want, it's your game. I usually use rune farming as a chance to test out various gear.

If you just use CE to add items then it's safe AFAIK. That is with EAC turned off obviously.

if you use cheat engine to get stuff that is not possible then yes... ban will come.
if you do use cheat engine in a way that everything your char has is possible by playing normal or just for test scnearios , where for example you manipulate boss behaviour you wont get banned.

i am occasionally using cheat engine for 2 years on Elden Ring
and i have played online 50h+ with cheat engine manipulated chars in coop helping others.

No ban , no flag

there is a difference between being level 20 and using cheat engine to get your stats to 99
and using cheat engine to spawn for example a second Rivers of Blood
Also you can spawn Hero's Rune with cheat engine and pop them normally.

This will not get you a ban.

However ofc you have to not be dumb about it.
play offline and use a seperate exe with EAC off while doing it

only go online when you have a save file that could 100% be achieved legit
