[...] is the hardest to place to find, ever
Rauh Base. Like, wha? I can understand how ppl wandered upon, but trying to intentionally find it was impossible until I looked it up.

What about you?

I ended up clearing out the whole area before finding the map. That was quite an experience. I enjoyed using various landmarks to figure out how to get around.

I found everything without a guide but thats because I'm absurdly thorough in exploration and keep hitting all the walls for hidden paths.

theres no point "intentionally" finding that place when the entrance is some ♥♥♥♥ off cave by a pond 5 miles away

Honestly the whole DLC map felt like an exercise in trying to make something feel bigger and more interesting than it actually is. When exploring the base game, you can find ruins with bosses, caves, jails, catacombs, and other things around every nook and cranny. Just thinking of Weeping Peninsula alone, there are multiple caves, catacombs + an evergaol, tunnel, look out tower, church, village, puzzle tower, and ruins. In the entire DLC, there is maybe 10 interesting locations total in an area about 5x the size of Weeping Peninsula. You are meant to be happy after riding your horse for 5+ minutes to find maybe a Scadutree fragment or if you are really lucky a Demi-human queen miniboss just randomly chilling by a beach.

The base game map is clearly laid out, with clear roads indicating where to go and how to explore. The DLC intentionally withholds map fragments and makes everything super vertical with no obvious path to reach different areas.

IMO It's really poorly designed, and wasn't any fun or satisfying to "explore".

ikr, nothing more fun than traveling in a straight line with clearly defined directions to have my next exploration reward hurled at me
