Its insane how many wrong claims about how Elden Ring works in regards to damage and damage negation boosts are around.
Player summon works as follows.
1. The summoning players stats are compared to your stats.
now your stats get a % decrease off your actual stats based on the summoning players values.
2. i guess you get the summoning players shadow tree blessing level.
since you do get your weapons scaled to summoning player level.
I tested it with a +25 spear on a +0 Host and i did the same damage i would have done with +0 spear
3.) however you seem to keep 100% of your damage negation from armour and talismans regardless of what the host has
This means for example:
If summoner has 20 vigor and you have 50 vigor yoz get somehwere around effective 35 Vigor ( its not exactly the middle but somewhere around that)
If summoner has 20 vigor and you have 60 vigor you get somewhere around effective 40 Vigor
if you had 60% phys negation you will still have 60% phys negation
So your stats and summoner stats matter.
REVERED ASHES however is not supposed to do anything at all to a summoned player
Thank you for outlining this! even just a ballpark idea of what is scaling and how really helps when you're summoned in. Do you happen to know, is there any way to gauge the hosts level/scadu directly? normally I just try to estimate off the bosses damage, but it can be tough to tell unless you eat the hit yourself.
