FPS and Performance on 4070
Hello, is anyone else having kind of low fps on a 4070?

I generally hover around 40-50 fps, both in the open world and the legacy dungeons. Though the game seems to stutter a lot more in the legacy dungeons.

Other than my Geforce 4070 I have a i7 9700k.

I have a fresh installation of Windows. No programs running in the background. I've tried all the settings in the game. The framerate is always around 40-50 fps. Both at 1080p and 4K. Low or high setttings doesn't have any effect on the fps.

I also have the latest Nvidia drivers.

Possible unstable performance fixes
In some PC versions, Ray Tracing may be unintentionally enabled and cause unstable performance. Please check the Ray Tracing setting in the "System" > "Graphics Settings" > "Raytracing Quality" from the title screen or in-game menu.

.

This only means that the cause of the fps problems is not your raw hardware power.
unfortunately it can be a lot of things.

my system run perfect for 370h since er release....
now with latest DLC patch i suddenly have some performance problems >-<

Well, there's still RAM speed to consider...

Playing with a 4070 11600k and it is near impossible to get 60 FPS post DLC.
Certain parts of DLC drop down to 50's, or even 40's regardless of graphic settings. I'm guessing the game is stressing the CPU a lot. Because my gpu utilization usually sits around 40-60% in 1440p with RT off.
When I turn on RT in certain areas performance gets much worse. RT implementation is pretty bad in this game.

If you got GeForce App, check if it hasn't enabled DSR by mistake. When I first installed it, it somehow set my game to 8K resolution in DSR (7680x4320), so ofc it ran at low frames.

Okay :/. I get that game is badly optimized, but I feel like at just 1080p it should run fine...

Okay haha, I just checked it. It is off!

And for the RAM, I have 16 gb.

If the framerate is same at 1080p/4K, that means the GPU is not limiting factor here it's either the CPU or low-speed RAM(check if XMP is enabled and what speeds it runs).
I would also check CPU for throttling and check usage via RivaTuner in-game for better understanding of situation.
Also one thing is to install game on SSD if you haven't already. To be fair my 13600K is pushed strongly here too so i'm not overly suprised that 9700K might be struggling.

If the video card is idle, then the processor can no longer cope.

Ray tracing is off for me. My PC isn't latest gen high powered but it was high powered when I got it about 5 years ago and should easily be able to handle this game. CPU and (16GB) RAM look fine while I'm in it. I have 8GB VRAM IIRC. There's something wrong with the game atm it seems... presumably related to latest DLC (which I haven't got).

I have the same issue.

I have an i7-12700kf + rtx 4060 + 32 gigs of ram, even with all minimum settings and rtx off i cant run it over 50 fps
