I'd rather have a bloodborne 2 for the guns.
Well Mount, and Blade has directional blocking swordfighting. But that's obviously wildly different than a Fromsoft game. From already experimented a bit in Sekiro whether you had to either dodge a certain direction or jump over some of the attacks that can't be parried. My problem was they made them too fast. I remember on boss fights that had both types of unblockables it just felt like a coin toss. I just jumped every time, and hoped for the best.
Souls players didnt like it, they wanted the iframes back. Eventually they inserted iframes( its tied to a talisman and can be unequipped so no iframe is still possible).
You can check it if interested. It has a rough start, but its kept getting patches and improving.
All that will do is make 1 of these two classes being the best.
1: Ranged
2: Biggest shield to block all incoming damage to then poke at the boss.
All other classes would be useless to play. Because being close to a boss without being able to avoid damage from wide swing? Yeah you're not playing a light class.
UNLESS you literally get 3 times the run speed over the others or high jump that literally jumps over the boss.
You'd have to tone down the bosses too. There is no way the current bosses in Elden Ring would work without the i-frames in dodges.
Overhead strike? Sidestep.
Low sweep? Jump.
AOE? Sprint away.
Everything else? DEFLECT.
No i-frames. No equip weight. Just crisp movements and the best hitboxes Fromsoft has ever made.
If dodging isn't fun to you that's fine, but "realistic" dodging is not the solution.
