What stat increases Scarlet Rot build up?

I am using Rotten staff colossal weapon to help people beat Commander Gaius, but even after multiple hits i can't see him getting scarlet rot.

maybe rotten staff is too slow. Try use a fast weapon with rot grease.

Scarlet rot is a special status effect in the sense that no stats will increase buildup. The buildup is fixed for the weapon, spell, or consumable.

The fastest way to rot bosses in the DLC, as far as I know, is hefty rot pots. Think it takes 1-2 for most bosses. Never tried it on Gaius but it's probably similar.

Arcane won't do anything for scarlet rot buildup.
