spear that deals damage from afar

Hi everyone, I just met a guy who had a spear that literally chopped up bosses from afar just by waving it in front of him (I think, I'm not sure), does anyone know what weapon it is?

They added two spears that can be thrown.

Being Smithscript and Impaler.

Do you have a better description of the spear?

Was it a projectile or a physical attack? If it was a projectile was it from the spear, or from the sky?

When you say DOT, do you mean like, the spear stuck in place and kept damaging the boss? Or it applied status like rot?

If it's the latter, it might've been someone using a smithscript spear with rot grease or something.

That would be only with the Smithscript if it was buffed by Black Flame (does this even work?)

It seemed as if it remained attached to the boss and there was a continuous cutting noise

ghiza wheel found in volcano manor, actually scratch that. misread. should describe what it looked like perhaps. could be one of the crucible weapons like silurias tree that has a spinning attack from a distance.

It seems you are talking about the glitch people do with the pizza cutter (Ghiza's Wheel) and the spear you get from fighting Rykard (Serpent Hunter). At least according to your description that seems to be the case. I guess there are still people using it....

That would be Chainsaw glitch, depends was the boss taking a considerable amount of dmg?

When you throw Messmer's spear with a fully charged heavy attack it explodes and leaves a puddle of fire on the ground around it for a few seconds, maybe that was it
