On console they save scum dupe. On PC, they just 999 all items. That said, it doesn't matter and mostly people here are being dramatic. Mostly, every normal playthrough can easily obtain more than enough mats for 20 fire pots, 10 rituals, 10 heftys, turtle necks, pickles, aromatics, etc. You can obtain 22 golden seeds and most tears before you fight your first boss. You can obtain most late game items of value early as well. Especially with the DLC now and how easy it is to get to.
It really doesn't take much to have the same amount as any invader, summon, or host would use in a single bonfire because you are limited by containers.
I like playing the game.
I'll farm the mats, Makes the items, then save scum, as that is just coping files. No extra software needed.
Farming craft items is cancer.
That's fine but you, and people who do this, are still cheaters :). You are just an inefficient cheater with time to waste or on console and cheat within their means. You're still cheating the system.
Just FYI, I 100% completed game on all chatacters (even made a guide about it). There is no Bell Bearings for rot, death and frenzy boluses, all jerkies requre ingridients from field, all pots requre ingredients from field. Arrows too, but you can buy many from wandering merchants.
The only "friendly" items are magic turrets and sanctuary stones. And upgrade materials, of course.
Every item require at least one ingredient to farm.
I haven’t had many interactions with invaders (sadly). But I’m willing to bet that the ones who pop consumables like candy are only using a few types of consumables. One or two types of grease, one type of pot, one type of arrow, etc. this would also make farming much more manageable.
Do I think all of them are earning their consumables legit? No. However, crafting consumables is manageable enough that I don’t think all of them are cheating either.
