Is the Anvil Hammer he new King of Str weapons?

Plus the AoW is kinda ♥♥♥♥♥♥ for bosses

Eh I'd much rather have a chargeable R2 than the garbage flip2win of the Giantcrusher. Plus now Aow compares to that Anvil AoE.

Oh god I HATE that boss. Ranged weapons are the way I took it down.

I have some pyromancy for it

Gugs crouch r1 and jump r2 still destroys it completely. Pair with lion's claw and there's no competition. Reach and speed just too good for anything to even come close.

That said, a lot of strength weapons are completely busted, so it might still be good.

Devonia's Hammer is my new STR weapon of choice. I used the Blacksteel Greathammer extensively in the DLC before that, heavy infused with Sacred Blade AoW, also excellent. I upgraded the Anvil Hammer but haven't used it yet.

Try the rolling r1 or dashing r2 or the back step r1. Those have some horizontal and vertical options.

After further test I don't believe it's the best, but it's damn good. The persisting AoE gives it a powerful edge imho.

I'll stick with my Heavy Golem Halberd + Crag Blade as a main. It's moveset and reach is so good.
