That being said, I usually hover somewhere around 25-30 endurance depending on how heavy I want to go. Keeps me around the higher end of "medium" armor just fine, though I don't use greatshields, so that saves some weight. I normally don't use colossals either, so you'd probably want a bit more if you do (or a talisman to cover the increased weight for you)
Also depends on whether you hard swap or keep most of your essentials slotted at once.
breaking 70% of your total weight load takes you into heavy load.
stay below 70% of total weight load to retain medium weight for decent rolls.
with about 40-50 endurance, its possible to use heavier armor and maintain medium rolls.
you can mix and match weight load talismans such as great jar or erdtrees favor to min/max your equip load/rolls, but that also locks you into using those talismans, whereas pumping some more points into endurance allows you to use other - more useful - talismans instead.
my build aims at about 93-100 weight load baseline (so 45-50 endurance) depending on whether i need to use a shield or not, alongside heavy armor.
a medium shield will serve you just fine for most things, and those weigh much less than greatshields.
more importantly is to hit 60 dex/str as a melee, casters don’t need that much endurance unless you got levels to spare and really wanna throw out spells back to back and even then i always stop at 50, which is already over the top but this is for your main pve.
for lower level pvp lucaine above me is correct - and you can even go lower if you really know your weapon.
dex is irrelevant if your weapon doesn't scale with it.
likewise, strength beyond stat requirement for weapons is irrelevant if your weapon doesn't scale with it well.
its only important to get both strength and dex if you are doing a quality build specifically to scale with both.
that’s what i meant. either or hence the slash. sorry if it wasn’t clear
no worries, all good.
might have been a mistake on my part as well, i read your post as getting str AND dex, as i thought that's what the slash represented.
