I want to play with a friend but I am ng+ and he is not, can I invoke him or not? Are there level requirements? because I am 174 and he is 207

There is a level range, if you two set a password it is designed to circumvent this. If whoever is the host does, you can join each other regardless of how you level your characters and what your weapon levels are. The password setting is to allow you two to see each other specifically and no one else. It keeps things very simple.

Password will bypass level range and NG+ status so long as the sign is down in the same setting (Leyendell Holy Capital does not go to Leyendell Ashen Capital and vice versa)

NG-level is not taken into account for matchmaking what so ever.
