Which weapons from the DLC did you add to your coop/pvp loadout in your inventory.
Thread title is self-explanatory. I want to know what weapons you added to your hardswap/softswap repartoire since you played the DLC.

I started out as a 130 mage that mostly relies on melee, basically a power mage but I can spam spells too if needed. I finished at lvl 150 because many weapons required hybrid builds to a certain degree. Here's what I added (going from lowest to highest DPS):

Falx (strictly for roll catching, zero INT scaling though so not good for anything else)
Igon's Greatbow (for coop vs Dragons and some PVP)
Chilling Perfume Bottle (turns out meh dps)
Beast Claw with cold infusion (fun)
Spirit Sword (BH fang with some nice magic bonus AoW)
Cold Milady (R2 to R1 is great, L1 is perfect for tight spaces, L2 can roll-catch, super OP)
Star Lined Sword (fanciest AoW for mages)
Cold Lizard Greatsword with Savage Lion's Claw (R2 has a throwing attack)
Rellana's Twin Blades (mostly just for posing LOL)
Moonrythill's Knight Sword (oldschool zweihander moveset on a mage with carian swords
that actual do dmg)

So overall, I got an entire 10 weapons worth for the DLC. I put a lot of my old loadout weapons in the storage, but I still ended up with more than I had before. Overall, from a coop/PVP perspective, the DLC really paid off for this character.

Now, what about you? Please state your level, class and sub-class if needed.

Anybody? Thought it was an interesting topic.

Well, for my Faith/Dex build I guess the Thin Greatswords, since they fit really well, specially Leda’s

Also the Lightning Bottle and Dryleaf from time to time.

For my Str/Int build, it was largely the final boss’s weapons, and Frost Beast Claws

i tried the black twinblade with the new crucible knight wings ash and bloodflame for a bit but 90% of the spins are whiffed unless i charge (fly) at a cornered enemy, causing me to swoop right by and missing all the hits.

the combo set does incredible status buildup, obviously, but that is hardly new when it comes to twinblades.. but the lack of stance damage is hard to cope with.

once i realized i stopped using my ash of war: crucible wings almost entirely, i figured it was time to look for something new, which is when i headed to the shadow keep and found the fire knight greatsword, flame spear ash and winged serpent helm.

instant favorite and haven't really deviated from that since.

someone in another thread mentioned sword lance (more specifically the spinning gravity thrust ash of war on it) which i plan to try out next, as that seems to have some overpowered potential which will likely get a nerf when it gets too mainstream.

oh yes, i tried out the throwing thors hammer thing, but the damage it dealt even with the smithscript talisman on didn't even break 1k, and i refuse to dedicate all 4 talisman slots to make a thrown weapon work when i can just throw out some blackflame fireballs.
the thrown weapons also cannot be infused or greased up, so that's a major dealbreaker.
its a shame, really, because i was planning to use it against bayle since that mofo refuses to allow me to melee hit him.
fun to use against messmer soldiers though as they get knocked tf out when hit by the thrown hammer.

It's hard to add anything since you already listed the weapons I use lol.

I'll probably use the swift spear more often after I level it up, dunno if anyone else noticed it but it's attack profile is the same as the Drang twin-spears from DS3, just in a one-handed weapon.

You're talking about Gaius AoW, right?

Speaking of items, I'm using the horned bairns now too. I couldn't try the spinning gravity ash because my stats are too law, as goes for a LOT of stuff in the DLC, even the mage stuff.

Another really cool thing that I haven't used yet is you get the Death's Poker's AoW from a Death Rite Bird. I always used the Death's Poker just because the L2/R1 are just overwhelming against any slow/large enemies and they destroy anybody in tight corridors in coop/PVP. Now I can use that with a weapon with higher base DMG. Not sure which one I'm gonna infuse it yet though.

yes, Commander Gaius.

interesting bit about the death poker ash. didn't realize they put that in the game as an ash you can put on any weapon.

and yeah, the split stat requirements on a lot of the new stuff in the DLC is one of the reasons i haven't bothered to try out that many new things yet.
i only have so many larval tears and i'm not about to waste them and force myself in to ng+ to get more.

i honestly don't understand why they have to be a commodity, like just make a mob drop them or give a bell bearing.
why is it so important to keep people from respeccing? lol.

Devonia's Hammer inspired me to take an unoptimized Crucible Knight cosplay into NG+. I used the Blacksteel Greathammer my first time through the DLC before that, and I loved THAT. I'm glad big bonks got much love in the DLC.

I should roll my eyes at Euporia. I should. I mean, it's extra damage type is holy - not like there are many resistant enemies to holy! Especially in late game! No, none whatsoever.

And yet. And yet, cashing in a mimic tear so I can (ab)use the Euporia properly was just too tempting, after I saw how it's AoW worked.

Yes, it still does holy damage. But, having a holy damage Comet Azur AoW on tap is pretty fun.

That said, I did switch back after a while to using a Claymore with Storm Strike using a Quality build, which I hadn't played in a while. The talisman from the Dancing Lion really brings it back.

using the new talisman rellana's cameo, I recreated my dex/faith build using the nagakiba, and this stance build can take 90% of a 80 vigor palyers health and dish out a solid 6k dmg in 1 unsheath heavy on bosses
Nifty Jul 6, 2024 @ 11:48am
Most of the smith weapons are auto +10s due to the way they interact with talisman stacking, and elemental infusions.

Also the tech capabilities they offer is very high allowing melee builds to range pressure without needing a bow inclusion and frankly doing way more dmg anyways.

But beyond that I can recommend backwards blades, base great katana, base light greatsword etc.

Piercing shields are dumb, hand to hand combat is fun, new spells are top tier.

Most stuff is amazing if you pass the scarecrow if I had a brain test.

I just checked my inventar, and I apparently missed it, even though I finished that forge area.
Loudness Jul 6, 2024 @ 12:33pm
anybody else. What about the FTH/STR/DEX guys
Toast Jul 6, 2024 @ 12:34pm
Still use my greatsword, the weapons are cool looking, but nothing compares to my slab of iron.
zmanbuilder Jul 6, 2024 @ 12:36pm
I've been using devonia's hammer in pvp quite a bit in my crucible build. Other than that, I've been using the death knight axes.
