Best Straight Sword for Str/Fth Paladin build?

Hey guys, been torn between using Broadsword and Lordsworn Straight Sword.
I know the Lordsworn has a better moveset and 10+ higher crit chance than Broadsword, but online I see tier lists where people put Broadsword higher, but on forums vast majority of people say Lordsworn.

At this point I'm convinced it's just preference, but if someone could explain to me what are the main reasons or differences to choose one over the other before I start forging my weapons?

I believe broadsword has the most damage, but it lacks the poke heavy. Lordsworn also has a higher critical modifier. However, even better than the Lordsworn is just the plain old longsword. You don't even need the faith. Strength, heavy longsword, brass shield, and square off is all you need to dominate. Keep another longsword or lordsworn with storm blade on hand for the rare instances where square off isn't enough.
